Guiding layer-by-layer nanoparticle design with high-throughput assays and machine learning models
Layer-by-layer nanoparticles have seen great interest and success in targeted drug delivery, especially in the field of cancer therapeutics. Recent pooled screening experiments have shown that uptake of these nanoparticles is connected to various material and biological properties; improved understanding of these relationships between structure, system, and function would widen the scope and strengthen the potential impact of related treatments. Thus, my research seeks to develop high-throughput experiments alongside machine learning models to better understand and predict the behavior of layer-by-layer nanoparticles from biological and chemical points of view.
