Investigating the Trafficking of Layer-by-Layer Nanoparticles
Layer-by-layer nanoparticles can be used to delivery various therapeutics in vivo, but their efficacy is limited by their ability to accumulate at the target site and selectively interact with certain cell populations. My research aims to further elucidate the details of nanoparticle trafficking, such as by examining how properties of the nanoparticles influence the particles’ interactions with various cell types. This fundamental understanding of how nanoparticle properties follow from the physical form will inform the rational design of nanoparticles to have the desired characteristics in order to tune delivery for different therapeutic molecules.
