A Hydrogel Layer-by-Layer-Nanoparticle Composite for Treating Ovarian Cancer
Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecological malignancy, with high mortality driven by advanced disease at diagnosis, frequent metastasis, and resistance to conventional therapies. Current treatments are often limited by severe side effects, drug resistance, and high rates of recurrence, while intraperitoneal delivery of therapeutics is further hindered by poor tissue retention and rapid clearance. My work focuses on developing an injectable hydrogel platform for the sustained release of layer-by-layer nanoparticles delivering genes, small molecules, and biologics to improve treatment durability and therapeutic efficacy in ovarian cancer.
