Layer-by-Layer Platform for Controlled Melanoma Immunotherapy Delivery

Layer-by-layer assembly is a powerful tool for drug delivery because of its ability to generate drug-releasing surfaces coating a variety of substrates, its versatility to release a wide range of therapeutic payloads, and its potential to carefully control drug release profiles. My research aims to apply layer-by-layer assembly as a platform for the spatially and temporally controlled delivery of immunotherapies for the treatment of melanoma. This platform will utilize a release system, such as a coated microneedle array, with the goal of achieving sustained therapeutic delivery in a tumor to generate a robust antitumor immune response.
