Layered lipid nanoparticles for delivery of mRNA

Layered nanoparticles have shown great promise in the targeted delivery of immunotherapeutic agents to tumor microenvironments. Delivery of cytokines as therapeutic agents shows great promise but faces systematic toxicity concerns, resulting in limited use for combination therapies and dose limitations. Using both tumor-specific targeting of layered nanoparticles and the reduced cytotoxicity of mRNA can allow for more efficacious and safe delivery of these therapies. My research is focused on the design of layered lipid nanoparticles to safely and efficiently delivery mRNA that encodes for immunotherapeutic agents.
