Multifunctional layered nanosomes for biofilm-responsive antimicrobials delivery
Despite being relatively neuro- and nephrotoxic, polymyxins remain to be the last-resort antibiotics to treat multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacterial infections. This unmet clinical need has become a classic concern along with the rapid rise of global antimicrobial resistance. In order to mitigate the toxic side-effects and utilize the therapeutic potency of antibiotics, Dicky works on developing electrostatically bilayered nanosomes with biofilm-responsive and synergistic antimicrobial functions for the drug delivery systems.
