Layered charge-stabilized nanodiscs for IL-12 delivery to ovarian tumors
Nanoparticles are a versatile platform for drug delivery due to their ability to carry therapeutic agents and target specific tissues for treatment. Charge-stabilized nanodiscs, an emerging class of nanoparticles with a high aspect ratio, can be coated via layer-by-layer polymer assembly, enabling enhanced tumor association and retention. My research aims to utilize these layered charge-stabilized nanodiscs to deliver IL-12, a potent yet toxic immunotherapeutic molecule, directly to ovarian tumors with the goal of minimizing systemic side effects.
